I see there haven't been any new posts for a couple of days, so I was wondering if everybody's feverishly working on something, or whether you're extremely busy with RL issues. :)

So yeah, rollcall ;)  What are you bastards plotting? :D j/k

Anybody got any WIPs (works in progress) they want to share, interesting stories about recent misfortunes, plans for the future, anything at all?

Me?  I'm just completely knackered TBH - dunno if it's the time of the year, the weather, WTF it is  but I just feel completely drained.  I think it might have something to do with the clocks going back.  Seem to remember somebody banging on about how it messes up your metabolism, but it takes a few weeks to kick in.  Something like that anyway ;D

So yeah, how are you doing out there? :)
Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

btw, sorry about the competition. I've looked and looked at that picture but nothing has come to me!

Neuromancer

Finally got the kids down after a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with aunts uncles cousins and far too many kids LOL

About to hit the hay myself.

I am in the same boat with the pic.

The more I look at it, the more things I see wrong with the pic, rather then the story.

I did have an idea.  But realy its not my element to make it believable.  (medieval england) I might be able to fool some americans, but definitely not british chaps LOL

I even though about just writing a story and including the referenc eto that pic, as hanging on the wall in a office or something, but no

However if someon wants a plot, I am willing to give them it, and they can write the story and take the credit ;)

I think it's coming to the point where we might as well call off the writing comp and set a different one next month instead :D  Nevermind :)

Okay my story

The two people in the picture were Thuric of Galloway and Murdac the Barber

Thuric was in a tourney and noticed his body getting bigger, and figured it was the concoction that Murdac had given him making his muscles swell.

Unfortunately he did not notice the red spots appearing on him, which later turned black

Basically the barber trying to help the knight gave him the black plague which started it all.

the picture reminded me of him seeing his future for selling his pride to the barber.

Ohhe needed the tricks to win cuz hthe prize was mariage to a good noble women that would save his family land or something.

I had the idea but could not flesh it out.  Was to BLEH for me.  I do not know what why "style" is yet, and though I played al ot of Dungeons and Dragons and completely aced out my AP Class European Studied in high school, I really dont feel comfortable writing about it for a european audience LOL

Plus the motivation just was not there.  I would not have accepted any prize money anyway :P

The story sounds good to me  but if you don't feel comfortable with it, Neuro, no problem :)

BTW, a public thanks to Grin, for sending me his edited version of his No Man's Land title game entry, for inclusion on the December front page of the cafedoom site - thanks mate
