What's everyone's birth sign?

I'm an Aries! Born: April 10, 1951

Crazy fact (unsure of validity): I was told that Dracula rose in London on April 10th (not sure of year: around 1800's). Coincidence, I love vampires? I think not!!! I also celebrated my 18th birthday in London!!! Ah, to be young and think you have the world in your hands!! Then, you get married, have kids and grow old!!!  >:(

I'm an Aries, too.  Can't say I put any faith in horoscopes, though - I don't think the alignment of celestial bodies has much to do with my less than heavenly earth bound body

I don't think the date on Dracula's rise in London is right.  I haven't got the book in front of me, but I remember a couple of Jonathan Harker's letters being dated in June, before Dracula set off, and it was a summer storm that drove his ship into harbour in Whitby - I've got a feeling it was sometime in July, and he spent a while in Whitby before going south.

Dracula didn't rise in London on April 10th? Now, I'm depressed! :'(

I don't follow the predictions, but I do believe it affects our personalities (not controls it). Yes, I know, there are many things that affect our personalities. Okay, let's say it just enhances it.  ;)

Anyway, glad to know you my fellow Aries! We ARE the best sign of the twelve!

I'm a Cancer (7/06/57). Born the day John Lennon & Paul McCartney first met. It was a good day!

Have to admit that I read the horoscope every day on the Toronto Star. Only because it's scary accurate for both myself and my UK sweetie (he's a Gemini).

My husband and youngest son are Geminis. And, my second oldest boy's birthday is July 3rd.

Glad to see someone born in the 50's! I was starting to think I was the only one! The 50's and 60's were great decades, weren't they?

I'm a Scorpio, born on Guy Fawkes Day (info: Nov 5th for Americans), which might explain my revolutionary anarchist tendencies - although Guy Fawkes wouldn't approve of my non-religion and I kinda disapprove of killing people.

Like Ed, I don't believe the configuration of distant stars can affect anything on our planet - except for those people who really believe they do - a bit of psychological delusion, but not necessarily a bad thing. A bit like believing in God. OTOH Earth and beings squirming around its surface probably are affected by the moon, sun, and to a lesser extent the larger planets in our solar system. Gravitational changes, solar radiation, lunar cycles all have known affects though some people are more affected than others.

Of course having a lump of space rock bouncing off your head would affect you... especially as in my short story, Prime Meridian :)

I'm a Sagittarius 12/5/74 the Centaur archer--I look at it as the ultimate symbiosis of woman/man and nature.  Sags are the "long life" signs of the zodiac which worries me a bit with all the aches and pains I have already I don't wanna live to 100! (or anywhere near that)  :/

I think astrology affects us all in a general way and it does affect our moods and personalities.  Heck, the Moon phases are a dead-on gauge for the direction me moods will travel (full moon and the week prior = anxiously happy and full of wanderlust; New Moon and week prior = downward spiral, below normal energy level and blah on the happy meter)     Maybe just me, though.

My youngest is a Virgo and her horoscope is so accurate--she's a nit-picking analyzer and contrasts rather harshly with me own unorganized ways.

Hubby's a Taurus born breech and it shows--his horoscope is arse-backwards, too!

   Geoff,

My 'ruling' planet is Jupiter and the one celestial body that  affects me most is the Moon so maybe you're right.

The sun has an adverse effect on me--it makes me wanna run and hide in the closet until nightfall  :cheesy:

Then again, just this planet can have varying effects on our physiology and therefore moods, which in turn trigger various hormonal changes. For example it isn't just rain when fronts pass that depress people. The low pressure during frontal weather (and more so during cyclones) actually allows our bodies to be slightly taller among other things because the weight of air on top of us is less. Conversely, in fine weather when the pressure is high, we are slightly squashed. Some people get headaches and mood swings because of this but without realising why. The feel good factor many of us experience just after rain can be, just like when having a bathroom shower, related to the billions of negative ions created then. In spite of the adjective, negative ions in the atmosphere are good for us!

Geoff, I felt like I was listening to Spock talking with all of the logic!  :D

Hey, Sharon, don't forget, the moon also affects us women in their cycles as well!

Sorry, Geoff, but I have found that on the full moon, the 'crazies' do surface!! People act so insane and irrational and are moodier than ever! But, we can debate the signs and their affect on us forever! I'm just a long time believer! I kind of like reading and knowing how wonderful we Aries are! ;)

I always put my hot day headaches down to hayfever - never considered barometric pressure might have anything to do with it.  Had a throbbing headache today, actually

Negative ions make me sleepy.  I know that much because I always sleep well after having been out on my boat.

Incidentally - I was amazed by how much weather systems can affect sea level.  A few months ago, I was watching a prog on TV about London flooding, and they were saying this particular event was because of an area of low pressure driving down from the North Sea and then veering into the Thames estuary.  The weather system had lifted sea level by several metres and then as the estuary got shallower, it drove the water higher still and caused this huge tidal wave/flooding.

Considering how far away the moon is, it's amazing how much its gravity affects sea level, too.  No wonder it affects peoples' and animals' behaviours, really.  It must be quite a strong magnetic force.

Geoff,
My old brain just made the connection between you and the picture in the 'author' section! Your bio is funny: even for a Scorpion!!!

Sinus headaches are what you're getting, Blunt! And they are a bi**** :hot:
I get sinus/allergy headaches.
I can tell when it's going to rain before the damn weathermen! And, it's been nasty here, in Philly these few days!

While I got you here: why did I get a red warning that another reply was posting and I should review my post?

It's just a feature of the board.  It's in case you've taken twenty minutes to write your post and it's just been made irrelevant by somebody who types faster than you

Happens to me all the time ::)

I'm a Capricorn - the personality traits fit me for the most part.  Way too down to earth, logical, etc.  Any other Caps?
