A Canadian reader of my book wanted to see what my typical cycle ride was like, so I waved my mpeg cam at the road on a ride in June. It took aaaaaaaagggeeeeeeees to upload it to YouTube but it plays straight away - mainly cos they sample it, but you still get a cool idea of why I do it as often as I do. Click on the link - then imagine that bike ride taking from one to five hours generating story ideas, refining plots or just talking to the animals you see over the hedge!

Beautiful!  :cheesy: My tour of the English countryside. I will have to view it in the winter, to refresh my memory of what green looks like! Do you get many cars or sheep in your path?

That lane is a quiet one - I plan my routes to maximise scenery and least dense traffic rather than minimimal distance. The video is on a Sunday morning so even quieter.

Was that your rasping breath, or was it just wind noise? ;)

It's much hillier around our way - you'd almost think you were in Wales, except the people are friendly and not predisposed towards digging (and that thing with sheep that isn't mentioned in polite company). :fugly:
Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

Granted that that lane is fairly level at around 250 metres above my start point in Chester. I did do a vid when I cycled up and down Horseshoe Pass, which is much steeper - and you would hear my rasping breath! But the view was spoilt by mist. I also needed both hands on the brakes at a few places downhill

That's really cool Geoff. Beautiful countryside!
It sounds like you're on a rocket-bike.
