I've updated the website today, with a new page for the authors - http://www.cafedoom.com/authors.html, and I've set a new comp running - http://www.cafedoom.com/comp1.html :)

I didn't have any pics for Neuro or Trog, so if either of you want to post a pic for me to put up next to your names, that would be cool.

I'm planning to get on and update the artists page, now that we have a few on the boards, so the same goes for you as well.  If you want a pic and a short blurb posted, let me know, or post it in the introduction area of the forum.

Also, I want to put up a dark poets page, so if any of you poets want your pics and a blurb put up, let me have it  ;)  And Sunny - as soon as you decide which pic (rose/storm/other) you want with your poem, I'll put it up too :)

Don't forget to look at the comp page ;)

Blunt, you may want to revise the dates on the comp page

Quote14th December 2004 until January 31st 2004.
Writing, when properly managed, (as you may be sure I think mine is) is but a different name for conversation.

Damn!  Did I leave one in? :o  I thought I'd caught all the dates....

Thanks for spotting it :)

I've dug out a suitable snap, where should I post it once I've scanned it?

It really depends on how good you are at optimising the file size.  If it's several megs big, it'll probably be best sent as an e-mail attachment.  If you can get the file size down to a couple hundred KBs or so, you can post it on http://imageshack.us or, if you can get it down to (I think) 120 KBs, you can attach it to your post (just press 'Additional Options').

If you haven't optimised anything in Photoshop before, it's easy - just open the photo in PS, then go up to the top bar, click on 'image' and select 'image size' from the drop-down box.  Make sure 'constrain proportions' is ticked, then adjust the biggest number (width or height) down to 600 pixels.  Then press OK.  Go to 'File' (on the top bar again) and 'Save for web' - it will give you four versions of your pic, all at different settings.  Generally I use the one to the right of your original, and save it as a jpg.  Press 'OK' then choose a new filename and directory to save it in (don't save it with the original name in the same directory, otherwise the original will be replaced).  Job done.

When you close the original image, PS will ask you if you want to save the changes - press 'no', otherwise the original image will be replaced by the smaller (dimensioned) image.

BTW, if anybody wants anything changed in their profiles on the page, just let me know :)

Geez arent i the rejected one, I soooo didnt see this  ::)

Well, I wanted you to pick the pic cause i'm very indecisive and its your sight, so whichever one you want is fine with me, i really am torn here.

Thats cool your putting a poets page also.  It'll be a moment or so before i can give you a biblio type thing and a cute whittle pic of my oh so precious self  :hidin:

Havent checked out the new comp I dont think, so when i get back from errands i'll check it out.

thanks for the link here btw.............i would feel silly for posting my thread, but............well i dont cause i rather enjoy using my puppy dog eyes  8)

Well, as long as you haven't got a wet nose and a waggy tail to go with those eyes, I guess it's OK ;)

I'll go for the rose image then, if it's up to me - reason being, the storm photo is very similar to the one on the Authors page. :)

Trog has sent me a nicely optimised photo of himself, so I'll be adding that later.  Just waiting for one from Neuro, if he wants one, and that'll be the authors page sorted...unless you want to be listed as an author instead of a poet, Sunny, Neuro?  Let me know :)

I'll get on with the artists one ASAP too - don't want anybody thinking they've been forgotten, it's just that my time is a bit limited at the moment and I'm putting things together one at a time between other committments :)

well dont have a waggy tail tho my nose is a wee bit damp at the moment from the cold weather ;)

The rose pic suits me just fine, good choice  ;D

I dont mind being a poet rather than an author. And i will give you my stuff asap. Just uh do I email, pm or what have you or post it?

I prefer carrier pigeon, but if you want to be awkward, any of the above will be fine ;) ;D
