Pulitzer Prize winning photographs. Sadly, they all seem to picture grief rather than abject joy or beauty.

As his son's funeral neared, Jeff Cathey's tears rarely stopped. He often found comfort in the men who shared his son's uniform. "Someone asked me what I learned from my son," he said. "He taught me you need more than one friend."

Miserable :(
Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

What does this photograph tell you about war? In particular, the current one.  :hot:

Nothing we didn't already know.
Just once I'd like to see all these so called 'leaders' put into a room and the door locked with the instructions "you're not coming out until you resolve your differences because the rest of the world is sick of the fights you start! Here's your boxing gloves, you f***ing pussies, now get busy!"
"Lord, here comes the flood, we will say goodbye to flesh and blood. If, again, the seas are silent in any still alive, it'll be those who gave their island to survive. Drink up, dreamers, you're running dry."
Peter Gabriel.

Americans are definitely AGAINST continuing the war. About two out of three people polled think we should end it now. Besides, if you do any research, you will realize that it isn't a 'war' any more in the traditional sense.

The Americans and their allies mainly occupy safe-zone enclaves around the country, and are nothing more than magnets for roadside bombs when they venture out. Little actual 'war' is going on. It is more like a turkey shoot, and the allied soldiers are the turkeys.

Recently, I wrote a letter to the Seattle Times newspaper about this subject, and they actually printed it. You can see it at www.adventurebooks.newsvine.com  Just scroll down to the article 'Military Magnetics'.

That letter says much more than I can explain here...

You know, one of the really popular websites around here is www.backwardsbush.com   I didn't order any of the items, but it's a funny site. It keeps a countdown clock in days/minutes/seconds until we are finally rid of America's Worst President of the Last Hundred Years. Worth a visit.
