Just as I join, I'm disappearing again, but only temporarily. Popping down to London to do lovely things like meeting my publisher to talk about my forthcoming poetry collection; getting drunk with my brother; getting drunk with my son; and staying sober with my parents. Back by the end of the week, no doubt nursing an almighty hangover.  ::)

Sounds like a good time, Delph. Have fun :afro:

Have a good trip, Delph, though hopefully not literally considering all that drinking

Have a great time, Delph.

The time I was able to say I was popping to see my publisher, it was to Middlesbrough (voted the UK's worst city apparently even though there is a marvelous coastline and humorous people). I hope your conversation doesn't go like mine did -- the small press publisher of my Escaping Reality, who agreed to meet me in his office of one of his other businesses.
me: are you Mr G. B......?
GB: who wants to know?
me: Geoff Nelder, we have an appointment.
GB (shuffling desk papers): What do you want?
me: to meet my publisher face-to-face!
GB: why?
...

and so it went on until he accepted I was more grateful than a threat, and then he took me for a great pub lunch...

Had a super time. Ate and drank and was merry with publisher and a couple of other writers, had boozy fun with brother and son, and a goodly dash of high culture with the parents. Have returned to find long and positive email from publisher with comments on the ninety or so poems I sent her. She's keen on a large number of them (phew!) so I don't think there will be a mountain of edits/new poems to write.

That's great news, Delph

Glad you had a good time, too
