If you like parodies, then check out Richard Cheese. Does lounge music versions of popular stuff.

Oh, I like that  Personal Jesus isn't quite as good as the Big Butts one, though.

The human faces on the apes are spooky in this one, I think:

Everclear, eve 6, green day--pretty common stuff

I'm revisiting a few eighties bands that I never bothered buying the albums of, like The Cure and Madness (never really liked them), The Smiths, The Selecter. It's bringing back a few memories, and I'm finding a few new tracks that I actually like. There's not a hell of a lot in the charts that takes my fancy at the moment.

I listen to just about anything but a few favs:     80's music
                                                                             Country
                                                                              Pop

Count me in as another metal fan! Metallica rules!

I also like Ozzy Osbourne, Rammstein, and Rob Zombie, to name a few.

But unlike some metalheads, I contend that for anything to be called "music," it has to have a discernible melody. Making a lot of loud angry noise on a guitar set to screech mode while your mates flail at the drums doesn't cut it. I know, some people think that's what ALL metal music consists of...

Call me schizophrenic (my doctors do), but I also like some classical music: Wagner, Beethoven, Mozart, and yes, that Carmina Burana piece by Orff is amazing; and just to throw people off, I've got Alan Parsons, Sarah McLachlan, Enigma, and ZZTop in my collection!

But absolutely, positively NO COUNTRY!

Recently found out that Chinese opera is great for when I'm doing housework. Of course this means that Ying will not want me doing housework around him  :'(

I've always enjoyed Chinese Opera whenever I've been to see it (Beijing, Taipei or London) - I think it's the weird percussion that I love. I have an ehru (sp?) lying around that I bought on a whim in Shanghai, with an instructional DVD. As with most of these things, it hasn't yet emerged from its box.

I mostly listen to Planet Rock these days, they play some great stuff on there. I'm even starting to realise what a good band Yes are.
I guess my all time fav's are, The Stranglers, most of the stuff of theirs I've got is on vinyl, The Sex Pistols, though they only did one good album, Pink Floyd and anything with a kick arse tune.

Some may say slaughtered is too strong a word...but I like the sound of it.

I'm listening to a strange mix of Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, Madness (best of), Pavarotti (ultimate collection), Fergie, the soundtrack from Step Up 2 The Streets, The Smiths, Level 42 (World Machine), and selected Madonna tracks. Weird.

Today, whilst rustling up dinner, I listened to Blind Blake followed by Grant Green.

"If you want to write, write it. That's the first rule. And send it in, and send it in to someone who can publish it or get it published. Don't send it to me. Don't show it to your spouse, or your significant other, or your parents, or somebody. They're not going to publish it."

Wow, I expected to see at least someone other than me say Horror Rock.  Can't go wrong with anything off of DieMonsterDie's What Is Shall Always Be album.  The Calabrese, Zombeast, Cancerslug, Everdead, The Rosedales, Big Fucking Skull, The Crimson Ghosts, Blitzkid, The Other, The Staggers, and goddammit I love The Automatons and New Forbidden Dimension.  I also listen to a lot of Psychobilly, but mainly the old british stuff like The Meteors, Demented Are Go, Long Tall Texans, Frantic Flintstones, Coffin Nails, but probably prefer The Matadors over all of 'em.

And of course old Trucker Country, Blue Grass, Rockabilly, and white trash things in general.  And I'll always have time for old British Oi like Cocksparer, Blitz, Angelic Upstarts, Sham 69, Last Resort and the like.  Some American Hardcore like Blood for Blood and Sheer Terror.

Here's a pretty good cross-section of everything I listen to: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=298790664

Yeah... I think I can shut up now.
Tune up all your rusty strings, let every Christian sing - I wanna dance when I go to meet my king.

The old Oi bands, I'd almost forgotten about that lot. I had some some of their stuff on tape which I played to death whilst driving around in my old MK II Cortina. Happy days.

Lately I've been on a real Beatles kick. Never was into them before, now I have a bunch of their CDs in the car *lol* So far my favorite is Rubber Soul.
