Derek--very nice, enjoyed it greatly...
He had something to say. He said it. . . . He had summed up—he had judged. 'The horror!'

Damn dell, nice.  :afro:

There's a local band called The Bear that I would love to turn you all on to, but they don't seem to exist on the internet. Imagine Billie holiday crossed with Sookie Stackhouse backed up with a perfect blend of jazz and hilllbilly folk. I'll post a link if there's ever anything to link to.

Some may say slaughtered is too strong a word...but I like the sound of it.

Hey Del--loved it--Mississippi John Hurt is one of my favorites...great job...I could never get used to using a Capo myself which is too bad...great job

Nice one, Del. Wish I could play half as good as you -- I can't even get a clean chord with my banana fingers. I half wondered about having a go at tuning a guitar to one note and then using a bar combined with finger-picking. I think it's a bit late in the day for me anyhow :afro:

Thanks guys.

Ed, it's an acknowledged technique - tune to a chord and then just use a barre right across all the strings and away you go. Back when I were lad I had an album by the amazing Ted Hawkins - he used to do this and even wore a heavy rubber glove on his left hand - so your banana fingers have no excuse. There's little footage of Ted but if you have a look at:

you can see it clearly. Pretty amazing really.  Another very famous exponent of this style is Richie Havens who was one of the stars of the great Woodstock movie.

But it's probably not a good idea to take up the guitar - it destroys your writing career!

What about Seasick Steve -- I think he tunes to one chord, doesn't he, Del? You'd know more about it than me. Wouldn't mind being able to do what he does. The guy can play pretty much anything on anything. :afro:
