Hi, all

I'm currently updating the website - doing the whole lot before I upload it, so consequently you won't see any changes until it's finished.

Anyway - I need a new story to display on the front page, possibly a graphic too (if I can't draw enough inspiration from the story to make the grave look witty).  So if anybody wants their work included, post it here and I'll try to choose the best one.

Guidelines

The story should be dark in some way, but it can be any genre - crime/mystery/horror/humour, etc.  Around about the thousand word mark - less or very slightly more (too long and nobody will read it).
And that's about it :afro:

Poetry - need a few poems to start a section, and a few poets to list.  If you want anything included, please post here. or send via PM/e-mail, any work you want displayed, and a brief biog, with a pic of yourself, if you want ;)

Artwork - come up with anything good lately that you would like displayed?  Same thing - send/post it and a brief biog, pic of yourself, etc.

Thanks :afro:

WEll in celebration of the new year perhaps the grave should say "RIP 2004"

Or something.

How's this for a "dark" poem to start things off?

My Dad by Donna Gagnon

a soft brown teddy bear and a
green crocheted blanket
are the only real things
in this hospital room

oh yeah
my dad's in the bed
but the man in that bed
has never been real

not to me

he never said . . .
never looked at me that way . . .
      never touched me lightly . . .

I got his toughness.
he taught me how to smoke and drink
and play cards and stay out all night.

I got his temper.
he taught me anger and how to put on the gloves and smack
   without damaging my hands

when he's dead
I want my bear and my blanket
back

Heh...why didn't I think of that? ::) :afro:  Cheers, Neuro.

Donna - very dark, thanks.  I'll try to find a good image to go with it, unless one of our artists would like to make one?
