I can't decide if it was promoting suicide within the emo punk indie music scenes or mocking it.

Self-mocking, I think.

Some of the videos I've tagged as favorites on youtube are distinctly emo (without any apology) -- probably would make a good flash subject. I'll have to remember that.

Definitely mocking the goth movement, Geoff.

I think there's a bit of irony in the whole idea. Kinda like anarchy is a self defeating concept. Goths are a lot like the punks, rock and rollers, and the mods, and every other youth movement ever conceiced, in that in their desperate persuit of being an 'individual' they wear the uniform of their clan, thereby becoming just 'one of many the same' in most people's eyes.  :smiley:
