I've sat next to the loony on the bus a few times, but this takes the biscuit

Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

I suppose at least the victim had no terrifying anticipation of the attack and probably died quickly. Even so it must be awful for his friends and family.

I wonder what medication the attacker was on?

Odd writing style. For instance the sentence starting: Trio... I thought this was someone's name until later when I realized it referred to three people.

Yeah, I wonder if they were meant to be headings, but the typesetter got it wrong?

The other guy in Canada apparently started cutting chunks off his victim and eating them, according to news reports today. I find it incredible that anybody could find the sheer will necessary to cut somebody's head off with a knife. It's not an easy thing to do with an axe, let alone a knife.

Is Ed's surname Borden?  :/

If it is then this twist on the old rhyme would be fitting:

Ed was tired of all those hacks
One day he snapped and gave one forty wacks.
When he saw what he had done,
He gave the next would be writer forty-one!! :o
