Tongue in cheek (my own) but I had to laugh yesterday when I was sent a photograph from a Santa Cruz, California home. The subject of the photo is a bong. But look what the bong is resting on.

Now my street cred among my former students has hit the roof, will they rush around to Borders and online bookshops to buy Exit?

Very nice. THere is no such thing as bad press.

Pretty cool, Geoff.

I think I might pick up a copy. I don't read alot of sci-fi (that's where Exit fits, right?) but I've become interested in the genre lately.

Is there a thread where Exit is summarized?

LOL maybe that cliche  no such thing as bad publicitiy has a bing bong of truth!

I'm wondering if Dave Paul Cambell, the guitarist, related the glass spheres in the bong with the alien spheres in Exit, Pursued by a Bee?

Trouble is, after a hit off the bong he couldn't be arsed to read the book  Probably just sat staring at the front cover repeating the words, "Wow, maaan...."

Nice to know the book's getting out there
Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

It's nice to know that they're reading  ;)

It's got more street cred than my copy of the Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. As a book, it makes for a great door stop. And as a door stop, it's better employed than it ever was as a good read.

That bong really belongs on top of "Escaping Reality". Beside the bubble wrap, of course. :)
