Nothing 'dark' at all about this drawing, but I thought I'd post it anyway. Enjoy!

Fabulous! I can't even imagine how you got the straw to look right.

Thanks! The trick with the straw was to just draw the dark spaces in between. I nearly went cross-eyed doing it.   :wha:

It's really good...so lifelike. You're very talented.
Some may say slaughtered is too strong a word...but I like the sound of it.

Excellent!

I never could get the hang of that. I managed to "draw the spaces" once when doing a kitchen stool, but when it came to grass or straw or hair... that's when I realised patience was a virtue...

Thanks Caz and Del.

Negative space - that's the key. Transformed my art once I got my head around the concept. I think it's the equivalent in writing of showing someone's reaction to something shocking rather than simply giving a description of the shocking event itself.

"Gorko the pig." That's what my son said when he saw your drawing. Pretty nice. No idea where 'Gorko' came from, though.

That's made up my mind, Cathy.

The next Canterbury Tale I write will be about a swineheard.

Wow. I am seriously impressed. The best comment I ever got on my art at school was "His colours are a little muddy". It went downhill from there. So I am in awe of anyone who can produce that kind of thing.  :sthumb:

Thanks all! If I ever write a story about this pig, he will have to be called Gorko.
