Although Doom was done first how does it stack up against Quake, Quake II, Quake III and Quake IV?

Then there are titles that take the standard fps frame and expand on it case in point - F.E.A.R and Project Origin, Dead Space, Resistance FOM, Red Faction, and The Darkness. How do these titles stack up against Doom?
