Are you the Walker I see is on Writers' Dock?  If so, what do you think of it?  There are lots of familiar names there from Get Writing - I'm still finding my way around, so no opinion yet.

Walker

No, Joyce, that's must be a different Walker. I've never heard of writers dock, is that another workshop site?

As you may be aware, the BBC is closing the Get Writing writers' website shortly.  Writers' Dock is one of the boltholes that various people have opened as alternatives.  I never used GW as a workshop (for one thing, it's a public site and there are all the issues about what constitutes publishing, and for another, I'm not tempted to swap crits with immeasurable numbers of people I have no knowledge of), but I valued the talk there would be in certain areas of the site.  So this WD (not to be confused with Debs's one) is a way of keeping in touch with people I'd got to know.  It's set up to fulfil all the functions that GW did for its members, and there are workshops of all sorts in the making as well as the talk threads, but obviously,  it's early days yet, and the things people most want and use will be the things that grow best.

Thanks Joyce, you're right about getting crits from people you've never even met or conversed with. It's hard to take someone seriously if you've never seen thier writing or anything.
