Mother in freezer for twenty years

An elderly woman has been quizzed by police after apparently storing her mother's body in a freezer for up to 20 years.

Officers interviewed Daulat Irani, 83, under caution after the grim discovery at the property in Sidcup, south-east London.

It is understood the body was formally identified as that of her mother Gulbai Freedoon Murzan, who was born in 1901.

Officers believe she could have been dead for up to 20 years.

Her death was currently being treated as unexplained rather than suspicious, the Metropolitan Police said.
