Just spotted this, posted by Gavin, over at BeWrite.  It's L. Ron Hubbard's Writers of the future contest.  Up to 17,000 word submissions, in the genre of Sci-fi and Fantasy (somebody mentioned horror too).  It's an on-going comp, quarterly, paying a top prize of $1,000 for 1st, $750 for 2nd, and $500 for 3rd place.

Each quarterly winner gets entered for a chance to win $4,000 at the end.  Sounds good :afro:
