Worth a listen, I think. The narration is really good. Shame we never managed to get our little project off the ground. I found my audio story again the other day and enjoyed listening to it on my iPhone.
Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

I'll look forward to listening to this. I found a link to one of my stories the other day and was pleasantly surprised at how well the audio worked. In my late teens, when I first started writing seriously I used to go to Cheltenham Writers Circle and read my work out and consequently used to write it to be read aloud rather than read silently. I think I still retain some habits that are more appropriate to such situations (mostly an aim at smoothness, funky rhythms, and nice sounding words together).

"If you want to write, write it. That's the first rule. And send it in, and send it in to someone who can publish it or get it published. Don't send it to me. Don't show it to your spouse, or your significant other, or your parents, or somebody. They're not going to publish it."

That's a very good habit to get into, because if it reads well aloud it will certainly read well silently, too.

Right about that, Ed. When I read my stuff out loud it makes the "extra" words stand out. Makes for a good final edit. Helps especially with dialogue, too.

Thanks for the link.
