  You were tied up and raped at school?

My impression was that the young lady was caught mid-dance. My family has some very incriminating photos of me doing the "white woman's overbite" that look eerily like this young lass (only much older).

I certainly hope you didn't have the trauma of being raped. That's horrible.

Teenage girls are a trial of life.  Whereas guys will just beat the crap out of each other, girls use mental cruelty - and they're good at it.  By the time they hit twenty, they're almost bearable, but the wounds they gave out in the past aren't easy to forget, sometimes. :/

You are absolutely right.  I'd always rather deal with a mixed group, because they tend to take the worst edges off each other, but if it HAS to be single-sex, I'd take the boys every time.

I wonder who this poor woman IS?  It was all probably about 20 years ago, and she now looks totally different!  (I would either have dyed my hair, or be claiming copyright fees!)

Her looks really don't matter. Rape is a crime of power and control, intense anger, and usually quite misdirected. and, by the recidivism rate, I would guess it must be somehow addictive to the rapist (I met a female rapist once--never thought I would see that). so, I would guess that the rapist, if that be the case, would not be so concerned by her looks.

Sorry, just felt the need to say that.

True, but on a dark humour level, you could say somebody looking like that would be glad of the attention.

(the reality would be somewhat different, though)

Taking it for what it is - I think everybody has photographs of themselves that make them look ugly, scary even, so we can appreciate that this girl probably looks perfectly normal, most of the time.  It's just a bad angle for her

You should see some of the ones of me - my mother had them FRAMED!!!  And now they adorn her house for guests to sneakily titter at when nobody's watching :afro:

The whole reason I am always in control of the camera. I am an extremely vane woman and have just decided this past year that I am getting old--my biggest fear I think. I truly never thought I would live past 30 at the most. Too much of a wild roller coaster life. But, here I am.

When I first married, I was 19 and I kicked and screamed the whole way to the alter. by the time the proofs came in from the photographer I had already filed for an annulment. I was so furious about the whole wedding and 15 day marraige (it did take 6 mos for the annulment though) that I ordered only pics of my family and none of his or him. It looks a bit like I went to a costume party dressed as a bride. No, I wasn't pregnant or ever even thought I was so it wasn't a shotgun wedding. We did have a wonderful honeymoon up in Victoria BC, the florist came along so I just got to shop and go to the wonderful gardens they have up there. And, I had known the flosit since I was 12, it was nice seeing him.

later my Mom told me I should have said no at the alter. It would havgiven everyone's bridge clubs something to gossip about for ages. If that were so, I doubt she would have kicked me in the back of the leg for just standing there saying nothing.

the things we go through for our families.

Perhaps she would have been a willing participant.  :D

It sounds as if you've huge amounts of material for a novel there...

I particularly like the part that you took your FLORIST on your honeymoon with you. I agree with Joyce, you have a nice tale wanting to be told... ::)
