"WHERE'S MY MONKEY?!"

WWW
« on: September 06, 2010, 03:56:03 PM »

I thought I'd post this in here because, well, I did half of it  grin

The front was done by a chap called Jason Strutz - here's his website:http://strutzillustration.com/
And the back's by me  azn you can click here to see a bigger, readable version! --> http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/babies4feet/LOTLD/NMHBookCoverBACK.jpg

Took me flipping ages, but it's a rare instance where what I saw in my head ended up on screen.

Great work!

The cover illustration got me wondering how thick the fingernails would be of a hand large enough to palm the world like a baseball...  scratch

Phantastic work, Rev!  I really dig the back cover, but you know that already.  (Doesn't hurt to post my thoughts on two forums.)  Cheesy

very-nice, and very-nice to see that both the front and the back cover complement the left-hand!
[again i wonder if the artist held a base-ball in the left-hand and drew with the right-hand - but that could be me deja-vuing, again]

And thanks everybody for the lovely comments - I feel like my child's taken his first steps in front of an appreciative audience.  Ok now that just makes me sound like a right weirdo.

It''s very eye catching. I love the idea of using the front page of a newspaper for the back cover of the book.
Did you do the drawing of the skeleton with the trilby, Rev?

I'm throwing all my modesty out the window - yes, I did it all, the skeleton/newspaper/text etc hahahah I'm not arrogant, I'm just better than everybody else  Cheesy

But seriously, thanks Caz.  It's a mixture of drawing and image manipulation, which I think is my forté.  Someone asked if there was going to be ads in the back of the book, like in older comics, so I think I'll make some (to avoid copyright issues and also cos it'll be fun), see if they turn out okay.

Oh, tell me about it -- if I had a quid for every time that's happened to me I'd be better off than if I'd been paid pro rate for the stories I've actually got around to writing.

Well everyone involved with this has got their fingers crossed that it's successful enough to warrant a sequel.  I can't wait 'til folks see what we've got lined up!!!!!!
