Today I hit the eighty mark.
Time is creeping up on this old codger, yet I feel fine.

Read my most recent winning Global Short Story Competition entry:

i wanna see ANYONE blow out 80 candles.....hope you got some great presents and hope you enjoyed your day.
from me: - happy returns and manymany more, my oldish friend!
all the best can offer,

Thank you!
Funny thing, we went to a square dance with a large cake and the matches failed. I managed to blow out the two candles they lit and felt very proud of myself!

2 candles? -- thats one for next year, is it? ;)

Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

Definitely a time to use this one:

Many congrats!

Happy Birthday!

When I was little, my mother, aunts, and grandmother used to sing this after the Happy Birthday chorus:

"We hooooope you live to be a HUNNNNN-dred, and THEN a HUN-dred MORE!" to the rousing strains of Battle Hymn of the Republic.  ::)

"If you want to write, write it. That's the first rule. And send it in, and send it in to someone who can publish it or get it published. Don't send it to me. Don't show it to your spouse, or your significant other, or your parents, or somebody. They're not going to publish it."

Late to the party but..........Happy Birthday!!
OMG!! Soylent Green is people!!!

Some may say slaughtered is too strong a word...but I like the sound of it.

Congrats, Les. Although to be honest I'm sure Neil Marr told me you were 80 back when we were in the BeWrite forum - soooooo, that makes you younger than I thought you were!!!

If I know Neil, I am sure that his eighty meant the proof in scotch!
