With a view to getting more community stuff going on here, I thought I'd start one of these kinda things. TBH, though, word association threads have pissed me off for as long as I can remember, so I thought I'd try to make it a bit more interesting here, a bit more dystopian if you like.

A word disassociation thread.

We all know the opposite of hot is cold, and the opposite of happy is sad, but what's the opposite of chair? Is it floor? Stand? What about 'boat' -- would the opposite be 'drown'?

I don't know how it'll go, but let's give it a try :idiot:

Here's one to start you off:

DAGGER
Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

Not entirely sure how this works or should work either, but if I were to go on the opposite of dagger in a disassociated way would it be:

cork
The obvious was shield (to deflect teh dagger, or even chain mail and the like, but then I thought the purpose of a dagger is to plunge in order to make a hole, so the cork is something you plunge to stop up the hole).  Again, not sure if this is how it works?
He had something to say. He said it. . . . He had summed up—he had judged. 'The horror!'

Some may say slaughtered is too strong a word...but I like the sound of it.

Stay in touch! I don't mean that in a pervy way.

Darn. I'm not sure how to do this correctly, so I was waiting for someone else to put something more clever than the obvious:

Genius
