The thing about Google+ (and Facebook) is that they try to dominate your desktop. Twitter's great because you can run it on the side of your screen, and when you've got the BBC showing a select committee hearing with the Murdochs on the rest of your screen, it makes for a hilarious commentary.

QuoteI've only really dipped a toe into Facebook, never had a MySpace, didn't do Twitter, so I don't think it'll be worth it for me.

I had a myspace for a band I used to gig with. It's still up even though we no longer do much more than the occasional house party.

I killed my facebook about a year and a half ago because it got to be a little ridiculous. With people sharing so much so often I wondered how they had time to actually live the life they were exhibiting on facebook.

I kind of regret offing it altogether though. It's nice to have some sort of online presence. I've often taken to the web in search of more info on an author if I read a story or book that I enjoy. It's a far off chance at this point, but I'd hate to have someone read one of my stories and want to look me up only to find... nothing.

I suppose a website or blog might be the better way to go for that purpose though.
