Divers find large, unexplained object at bottom of Baltic Sea

I read this and it sparked a few story ideas. What if the objects were gone when they returned to the dive site? Sounds like the  beginning of a sci-fi story.

Though I'd post it here to get your juices flowing.

Hmmm...this sounds like my story from PMP's Isolation/Dark Doorways.
