Decided to start blogging again, a bit. Most of it will likely be lighthearted and playful stuff. Might not be extremely interesting to most, but I needed something to fill those empty spaces in the day. Anyway, the first is in regards to "What is Scary" and briefly addresses the more gruesome side of horror. Drop by if you feel like a quick read.

Interesting. I'm not a fan of OG, and have no desire to "prove" anything to myself or others by watching it. Alfred Hitchcock knew that suspense is often scarier than explicit depiction, and I find myself more entertained by mystery and suspense than overt gore.

BTW:  Happy Birthday!

Oh, I agree with you totally, Pharo. My point is this is more of a teenager "Dare you to" type thing, or the equivalent of rubbernecking at the scene of a bad accident. I have no urge, but when I do happen across it mid-play I find myself sticking around until it sickens me. Personally, I've never been one for the OG.

On that note, I recently read a post about someone who attended a reading. This guy read a short story that was much about gutting one's self while applying sexual pleasure at the same time. He said two people in the audience passed out, but the story kept going. Why? I don't get it. I do believe if I saw someone pass out from it, my first inclination would be to help. Still, once they were okay, would I drift back to see what did them in? Human curiosity? What is it? I blame that inner-teenager of those people out there that get into this. Either that or they are just plain morbid LOL.

Of course, this is all just fun banter. My walking home was really what scared me the most back then. Crazy how one block can feel so long and be so terrifying.

And, thanks for the Bday wishes. Wife took me out for a very nice dinner and we talked a lot about the many Amazon/Indie publishing discussions going about lately.
