I took my dog for a walk and came back to the tail end of "breaking news in London" and "Scotland Yard is investigating to see if it's related to last week's events." Have there been more bombings??

Oh NO!! More Bombs!! Its seems thanks to people being aware  there were no casualties caused by the bombs. It baffles me thogh how they could get the bombs aboard the trains so soon afer the recent events. I would think they would have put bomb trained dogs in every station. I believe you need to go on with everyday activities but you still need to keep your guard up.

Thankfully no one was hurt this time. This just makes me furious!!  :hot: What a bunch of cowards these bombers are!

I've just been listening to news on the radio.  It sounds as though this time, only the detonators went off, so there's only one person slightly hurt, and probably a great deal of forensic evidence left at the scenes.  It was (again) co-ordinated - three underground stations and one bus.

Seems like a low tech amateur copycat type of thing - pipe bombs and nail bombs, from what they said on the news earlier.  Two arrests have been made already, which is heartening, but it remains to be seen whether they're actually guilty of anything.  Given the past record of Scotland Yard's anti terrorist squad, they'll arrest anybody and then make the evidence fit.  Guilford Six and all that ::)

If they are guilty, they should be sentenced to wearing a backpack, with one of their devices in, until it goes off >:(  (then they should have a bucket full of aftershave poured over them, if they're still alive, bastards)
Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

You know, I think the British will just grow thicker skins, be more aware and continue to bicycle, share rides and walk while the transit system is repaired.  You're a resilient bunch, for certain!

You can't stop and search every rucksack on public transport, every cycle pannier (umm, that's not been tried has it?) and every kiddies pushchair (that has been done in Israel). There are not enough trained sniffer dogs for every bus stop in Chipping Sodbury let alone London.

All we can do is to be alert, trust (I know it sticks in the throat) the police anti-terrorist investigations - especially the pro-active policing - and don't let the bastards grind us down - there are plenty of other bastards that try and do that to us!

Still, it didn't take the Brits long to figure it out...again.
Meanwhile, our boys in the States are still arguing about facts relating to 911.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The House voted by a wide margin Thursday night to renew expiring provisions of the USA Patriot Act, the collection of antiterrorism measures passed after the September 11, 2001, attacks.

The final vote was 257-171. The bill makes permanent 14 of 16 provisions in the act set to expire next year and extends two others for another 10 years.

Passage came with the specter of terrorism fresh in lawmakers' minds after another round of bombing incidents in London earlier in the day.  ...

QuoteOne amendment that did pass overwhelmingly requires the FBI director to personally approve any FBI requests for bookstore or library records of suspected terrorists.

Well there goes the neighbourhood. *very sarcastic tone*
