Nah, maybe you've just led too sheltered a life?!  :D

Geoff_N

Maybe we need an mp3 section?

Naw, I'd fill it with Scriabin and Girls Aloud  :bleh:

Here Blunt, don't want you to be left out http://www.arthurbimbo.com/mills/theglowworm.ram

Sorry Joyce just had to get this little ditty stuck in his head to go round and round too :cheesy:
The Doc told me I had a dual personality. Then he lays an 82 dollar bill on me, so I give him 41 bucks and say,
"Get the other 41 bucks from the other guy."

Brilliant!  I hadn't found it, but wanted to do exactly the same.  It's only fair, Blunt.  (It's actually quite a nice little tune/song, only annoying when you find yourself singing it in the supermarket queue for the 95th time that day.  My WORST EVER song to get on the brain is Scarlet Ribbons, which is a 100% cr*p composition in the first place.  Anyone else know that?  My husband sometimes annoyingly teases me by starting it off.  >:()

Ed

Hmmm... jolly little ditty, isn't it?

Thanks, Digi - ya bast'd >:(  You know I can't resist clicking on links ::)

Joyce - I feel your pain.  I had a similar problem with that stupid song that went, "Hey baby, I'm the telephone man, singin' hey nonny-nonny"... etc.

Have you heard about the brain research that explains why we get a tune stuck in our head? Seems it's only tunes we KNOW that keep going round and round like that. Our brain want to FINISH the song, even if we don't hear it with our ears, the brain wants completion.

So, it's truly torture that your hubby does that , Joyce! Has he any favs that you can "start" for him?

Yes, I did see that research, and it doesn't seem to me to make sense.  I can believe that the brain wants closure - Gestalt theory and all that - and that would seem to me to account for what happens when you can't actually remember all of something: the brain keeps on and on at it, trying frantically to butt through the wall.  If I solemnly go ALL THE WAY THROUGH to the end of Scarlet Ribbons (and I know every darn word and note), that, according to the research, ought to exorcise the demon, but all that happens is that it starts itself over again... and again... and again.

I have to admit the one that taunts me the most is Banana Phone.

Oh, that's a new one on me, Digi.  I don't think anyone's brought it out this side of the Atlantic.  (I can imagine it could get a bit much if you hear/sing it too often!)
