DEEP CUTS (August, 31, 2012)

Hi, hi, everyone!
It's been a while.
I hope everyone is well!
Thought I'd give you a heads up on a new pro-paying market called DEEP CUTS.
Here's the link to the guidelines:
http://deepcuts111.wordpress.com/2012/05/21/hello-world/
It's a bit of a unique concept that has generated a few questions, so here's some of the FAQ's:
Can men submit?
Of course! Women or men may submit an original story. Even though this anthology is honoring great horror stories by women writers, there’s no reason to restrict submissions to women only. Men love horror stories by women also. The 150 word recommendation is of a favorite horror story by a woman writer. If you submit a story, just add the recommendation at the end of your story so that it’s all in one document.
Is music part of the anthologies theme?
There is no music theme for this anthology. We are using the concept of "Deep Cuts" to search out those great horror stories by women writers that are out there and deserve to be brought to the public's attention again. The theme of your story can be anything, so long as it fits the genre.
Cross genre fiction?
We have no restrictions on cross-genre works at all. Our main requirement is that it be something that makes you uneasy when you read it late at night, or in the dark, or alone in the park...or anywhere. We just want it scary. Part of the problem with having to assign a genre to it is that it risks eliminating some people from submitting because they interpret the genre to be restrictive. We'd LOVE to see a steampunk horror story or some historic horror or scifi horror. Any mix, so long as it's scary.
And because we have a Kickstarter page , here's a couple more FAQ's:
Will the anthology be done if your Kickstarter fails?
Yes! The anthology will go to publication whether we make our goal or not. With the success of the Kickstarter campaign, however, we'll be able to take this project to the next level, making it a much better anthology!
Do I need to pledge to have my story taken seriously?
ABSOTIVELY NOT! We will not give those who have pledged any kind of advantage in the slush pile. We are looking for the best stories that will fit best into a cohesive anthology. We want to make the best, most interesting book we can. And this Kickstarter in no way impacts the stories we will choose.
During the last couple of weeks, we have announced Lisa Morton will be writing the introduction and 2 of 3 spotlight writers, those being Yvonne Navarro and Mehitobel Wilson. We'll be announcing the 3rd this weekend.
You all have a wonderful morning, day, or night depending on where you are in this great big world!

Hi all!
A wee update to announce the 3rd spotlight writer.... Nancy Holder!
We're very excited to have Yvonne Navarro, Nancy Holder, and Mehitobel Wilson contributing stories, Lisa Morton writing the Introduction, and Anja Millen, an extremely talented artist from Germany, providing the cover art!
Looking forward to reading your submissions!
