I took a break from the daily grind to concoct a lifesize (as I imagine it) Death Worm for our local scarecrow contest. This picture doesn't really do it justice. In person it looks pretty good. Hoping it will inspire a few nightmares.

To put the size of that thing into some perspective, that's my son in the first picture (about 50'' tall), standing in front of the deathworm. The cornstalks in the background are about 10'-11' tall. Here's a larger picture with better detail:

Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

Lol - Is that before and after?

Great stuff.

Read my most recent winning Global Short Story Competition entry:

"If you want to write, write it. That's the first rule. And send it in, and send it in to someone who can publish it or get it published. Don't send it to me. Don't show it to your spouse, or your significant other, or your parents, or somebody. They're not going to publish it."

Robert B. Parker

Thanks!  :afro:  It was a lot of fun to build.

Womble, that is a before and after. We told Liam not to get too close to the worm. Afterall, he knows that a fully mature Death Worm will eat as many as half a dozen eight year olds on any given day. We will miss him.
