Long overdue, I know :/  But I'm determined to knuckle down and overhaul the CafeDoom website (not the forum, just the website).

:afro: What I need from you, if you want a spot on the artist or author pages (or both) is -

1) a short introduction, autobiographical; look at the ones already on the author's page if you need inspiration.

2) a photo of yourself (if you want)

3) a bunch of your stuff that you want displayed

Other requests -

I want to get this audiobook type thing moving, so we need good short stories to record.  We also need a few narrators to read and record their readings.  Joyce volunteered for this some time ago.  A couple/few more volunteers would be very welcome.

A Flashes of Doom collection - it would be nice to put a few of the best in one place and display them at random.  Please suggest your favourites for inclusion, whether yours or somebody else's.

I'm also thinking about turning a few stories into short e-books and having them available to download free of charge.

Above all, I would like for us to choose the best of everything to display - the best pictures, stories, poetry, etc.  I'm going to have a good sort out and ditch some of the old stuff (mine especially) and try to make this place worth visiting.  Think of it as a shop window - what do you want to show the world?

Any suggestions - bring them on :afro:

Obviously, this will take a while to fully achieve, but I'm determined to knuckle down and get on with it

Anything that's already on site/forum (pics, poetry, stories, flash) that you want to put forward, enter a link to it below, or tell me where it is.  Same with biogs or mugshots, but if you don't know how to post them, you can always e-mail them.  No probs.

Just letting you know I've seen this.  I'll give it some thought when I've got a bit of time.

Missy

What is the link for the website? I'd like to have a butchers. Thanks.

GrinReaper

thanks for all your hard work blunt! as i said before, any of my stories on the site are available for the audiobook project.

JoyceCarter

Missy, you just need to click on 'Home' on the bar immediately under the 'Cafe Doom' header at the top of the page, then you'll find the links to the bits Blunt is talking about.

Will have a rummage through my stuff and see. Thanks, Blunt!

Thanks, Grin, Joyce and Sharon - I'll make a start on the authors page as soon as I get a few details in.  I'll gradually work my way through the content too

C'mon folks

So far, I've had little to no response to the requests I made at the top of this thread.  I know we're all really busy, but it would be nice to get the ball rolling on this, especially now that I've got the podcast RSS feed sorted out.

There's a possibility that we can get some BIG exposure from all this, but we need to get the site and its content sorted out first, before things get put in motion.  For that to happen, I need some input from all of you - it would make my task so much easier.

Please?  Pretty please?

Once again, I see you've said this.  I'll try to have a trawl through tomorrow.

Ed

Thanks, Joyce.  Any help is much appreciated

Sharon has sent me her biog and a pic - thanks for that, Sharon :afro:

Any more to come, or should I get on and update the authors page now?

I'm think I'm going to add a few famous stories and poems by Poe and Stoker, for interest value.  Anybody got any ideas what else we could add to make the site more interesting?

Money, cash prizes, comps for outside folks. Okay. Skip the cash prizes. How about a book coupon for Amazon?

Oh, drat - I didn't mean to miss the boat, but have had car problems this week which have eaten away at my computer and writing time.  I'm going to go away working as from Thursday, till a week the following Saturday, and there's no way I'll get anything done before I leave.  Will it be possible to add something in afterwards?

Ed

Joyce - yup, no problem.  Have fun on your trip

Sharon - I was thinking it was about time we had another comp, but it doesn't really add any interest.  Over the past couple of weeks I've been thinking about different prizes.  Even thought about getting some CafeDoom T-shirts made up.  Was thinking about Amazon book tokens/actual books, or book collections too.  I think I'll drop the artist's comp all together - there doesn't seem to be much interest from that quarter, unfortunately.

What I really want to do is get some good content on the front end of the site and get the current pages updated with interesting stuff.  I think the Podcast stories will be a big hit, and that'll help, but we still need a few suggestions on stories to put through that process.

Thanks!  I'll keep an eye on you if I can get some computer time at odd moments.
