Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

And our pages got over twenty thousand hits this month :o  From all over the world.  Look at this list -

Does this mean that Walker and I are responsible for accessing 310 Doom pages in the last month! Holy crap, eh?

Amazing, isn't it?  I tend to think of this as being a little box to which only the names I know have keys - and it just AIN'T SO.  There will be people out there on other continents I've given nightmares to! ;)

Oh, dear God, is that what Google the Oracle said I did?  :P Must have gotten every  S Buchbinder on the planet!  Susan Buchbinder is a very busy researcher!

(BTW: I purposely use my maiden name for my fiction and "freelance" writing (Sharon Bell Buchbinder) to separate that "life" from my professional writings, which appear under SB Buchbinder.  What with the majority of medical journals going electronic now, every time someone references my work, I get a "page" in Google. It's all very mind-boggling.)

PS: Ignore this rambling dolt. I just re-read the original thread. Dunh!  :bangh:

Thanks, but I think it should be 'WE'.  :afro: Like I've said before, everybody here has contributed something to the website, so any accolades are most definitely shared.

Sharon - the page and hit counts are from the server logs, so they're accurate, and they exclude bots and spiders.

Joyce - several areas of the forum are only visible to members, like the flash challenge, for example, so we still have our cosy little nooks and crannies, away from prying eyes :afro:

Oh, phew! Glad we have someplace where we can let our hair down in private.  :sthumb:

Yes, I like the idea of the nooks and crannies ::), but I'm proud of the nightmares, too! :sthumb:

Just noticed a new search engine spider browsing our forum, and it turns out it's Exalead (tipped to become the next big search engine), so I checked out what they've got on us and we're in there :afro:

Check them out - it's a really good search engine.

It's interesting. Thanks for that, Blunt. The trouble is with any new thing like this, it isn't Google. I am so used to seeing the Google screen, and understanding how Google produces its results, and using just the right search words to give me the results I want.

I've tried the new MSN search (didn't like it), and I occasionally use the Yahoo search, but I don't really like that either. I'll give this one a try, though. I like the page previews on the right.
