I really don't like the Yahoo search engine - it seems really vague compared to Google.  MSN doesn't appeal to me either.  I always use Google, or www.alloftheweb.com

This new one, Exalead, seems quite innovative, though.  It's got quite a few good features, like proximity search - where you can search for text which contains certain words within so many words of each other.  It's a bit like the search on your comp, where you can choose a few options to narrow your search, like file type, a word in the title, stuff like that.

Google is still my favourite at the moment, though - I know a few Google hacks that help me get what I'm looking for almost every time :afro:

Doom - down in the rankings ::)  I see we've slipped to 19th place on the Google Horror writers' resources page - http://www.google.com/Top/Arts/Writers_Resources/Fiction/Horror/

Oh well  and there was me thinking we had more to offer than ever before

Weird

It's weird. Do Google rank on number of visits? Maybe if we all agreed to keep pressing F5 whilst we're viewing, we may get more clicks. It'd put your bandwidth up though  :(

No, it's not on number of visits - I thought I'd take a look at how the list's compiled, and it turns out they use volunteer editors to sift through sites and list them in order of worthiness, so there isn't much we can do about it, other than volunteer...

It's not important that we're on there at all, really - I don't think it makes any difference to our stats, although it was nice to see us on there and rising for a while
