This note from another forum may interest some of you.

                                    *****************************

I've slipped this appeal into the *Success* thread because that's what a good digital artist will find with BeWrite Books.

We're desperately (like yesterday) looking for someone who knows the technology inside out and has the imagination to turn ideas (from synopsis, full manuscripts or basic instructions) into stunning book covers.

We can't promise overnight millions, but we can talk about full book credits for your portfolio and a modest royalty fee. No payments or royalty advances up front, I'm afraid, as with our authors.

Please get in touch ASAP. But only if you know the job and only if you can send over a couple of examples to give us a clue as to what you can do. CVs don't matter ... you don't have to be a pro -- just know!

PM me or drop a direct mail to ntmarrAT(you know why we can't use the actual symbol without being spammed to heck)BeWrite.net. This weekend if pos chaps and chappesses.

Good luck. Neil

I offered help, in the past, but they were too vague about what they wanted for me to come up with anything relevant.  But then I suppose it was quite a hectic time for them, back along.

The lack of budget thing is also a problem - quite often it's necessary to use stock photography to compile good images, and they cost money.  Not much, but some.  Add that to the 'cake tomorrow' payment arrangement, and I can't see many good artists coming forward for it.

Good luck to them, though.  I hope they find somebody
Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]
