Hello all, I've recently had an epiphany about our friends the English. keep in mind this is a culmination of all I've learned from them and there ways: All they do is eat crumpets, drink tea, say "hail to the queen" and do as little as possible to help out with anything...

Oh yes, and beating horses with "cricket sticks".  :dh: :dh: :dh: :dh: :dh:

Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

As usual, us poor down-trodden Scots are tarred with the same brush as our southern neighbours ;) ;D

Let me put you right on a few pointers: I don't like tea or crumpets; I only put money on horses; am a devout republican.

And another thing ...
Quoteand do as little as possible to help out with anything
... it's the pride of the British Army, the good old Black Watch, that are helping out in another Vietnam-style debacle.

Okay, rant over ;D

lol, well i was refering to the occupation of iraq... The English allies aren't doing much to help, so far all we've gotten from them are some military tactics, something called the "leap frog" technique..

Well the Marines obviously didn't learn anything - 150 US marines were pinned down for 3 hours by one Iraqi on a bicycle in Fallujah this week :D  The US commander launched two air strikes at him, dropping four 500lb bombs, followed those with 35 artillery shells, ten huge deliveries fro Abrams tanks and 30,000 rounds of automatic weapons fire.  As the smoke cleared, the Iraqi was seen 'furiously peddling away into the distance, apparently unharmed'.

:glad:  Couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag, the lot of them :bleh:

LOL, dude... im sorry but your information is wrong. We also launched afew nuclear missles at the target Iraqi, and trust me, that mine field finished the job.

Obviously they did not watch the 20 minute instructional video on urban warfare, or they would have been qualified to kill that pesky bicyclist.

I got out of the Marines more than a decade ago, and I bet I can still hit a man at 500 meters, moving or not. It is one of those things that came easily to me.  ;)

Ed

So the US Marines have been without a sniper for the last decade, huh?  That explains a lot ;)

This post-scarcity anarchist adores tea and crumpet (both kinds).

That was one thing I really didn't like about my trip to Baltimore - I could not get a good cup of tea there. Being so close to Boston I thought it'd be a done deal, but no. I was practically on a central line IV on the plane home - being fussed and fawned over by the British cabin crew, who understood and sympathised with my plight. :/

Sorry, about the tea mate. I must say, I had a similar experience in London, searching for coffee. :) Did find it at last in Harrod's and other fine establishments.
