Hello!  (reverberation) ello-ello-ello-ello-ello-ello-ello-ello-ello-ello-ello-ello-ello-ello....

Cuh - you could hear a pin drop
Planning is an unnatural process - it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression. [Sir John Harvey-Jones]

Huh? What? Did someone say something?

Apparently not.

Hope to be back in curculation in a few days. Big day Thursday, and then we should be back to what passes for nomality in Doololsland.

Many years ago I accompanied other students to the open-air theatre at Olympus in Greece, luckily before the modern restoration. As an experiment a group of us sat in the various limestone tiers from close to the circular stage area to high up 100 metres away. luckily there were no other tourists (this was in 1967 the year of the military coup, and no, it had nothing to do with me, for once). One of us stood in the centre of the stage area and held up both hands for silence. Then he dropped the pin. I was about 50 metres away and heard it. Some right at the back claimed to too.

Now my hearing is such that you'd have to drop a piano for me to hear it.

  I should probably feel guilty about laughing out loud to the piano remark   Greece must have been wonderful before the advent of package deals, wasn't it, Geoff?  I sometimes wish I could see all those places before they were spoiled by tourism.

Looking forward to having you back in circulation, Gerald - hope everything's going OK for you.
