Rules for Doom’s First Anniversay Competition.

Closed: 31st October 2005
Fees: Zilch, nada, nothing, nowt – free to enter.
Prizes: Amazon book tokens (no alternatives)
$50 value for 1st
$30 value for 2nd
$20 value for 3rd

Details: Dark fiction short stories up to 1500 words. Open genre.

Entries were posted in the competitions section of the forum - CLICK HERE
e-mail entries were not accepted.

Procedure was:
1) Join the forum, if you haven't already.
2) Start a new thread, titled - *user name*'s Entry (#1/2/3 if posting several entries, use separately numbered threads) for 1st anniversary comp.
3) Paste your story into your new thread and press 'Post'.
4) Congrats! You have entered the running

Multiple entries were allowed, up to a maximum of three.

Entries must not contain material for which the copyright is held by somebody other than the person/persons submitting the work. Any submitted work must have been created by the competitor/competitors. In other words, don’t plagiarise – we will notice, your entry will be disqualified and you will be banned from entering future competitions.

Copyrights and publishing rights will be retained by the creators of the entries, but we reserve the right to display the work on CafeDoom.com for a period of six months from the closing date of the competition. After such time, you can request that we remove the material, and we will comply as soon as is reasonably practical.

Forum polls will be set up in order to gauge public opinion and highlight potential winners. Final judgement and selection of the three winning entries will rest with the site administrators. Polls can be rigged and unduly influenced, so we refuse to be bound by them.

Entries must be received no later than 12 midnight GMT on October 31st 2005. Winners’ details will be posted on the website, along with an honourable mention for other outstanding entries, on the 14th of November 2005 and the prizes will be sent out as soon as possible after that date.
